Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Ahmad Safadi said Tuesday that His Majesty King Abdullah II is making great efforts to stop the war on the Gaza Strip and protect civilians.
During a phone call with the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Hanafy El Gebaly, and Speaker of the Emirati Federal National Council Saqr Ghobash, Safadi said that King Abdullah has begun a series of meetings in Europe to mobilize international support to stop the war and reject any attempt to displace Palestinians and push for building a political horizon to ensure opportunities for achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Safadi stressed the importance of mobilizing a unified Arab parliamentary position in support of the brothers in the Gaza Strip, and stopping the war waged by the Israeli occupation, in which it practices "heinous war crimes."
Safadi, El Gebaly and Ghobash agreed on the importance of unifying Arab efforts and pressuring the international community and its influential forces to stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip, and to push forward a comprehensive solution in accordance with the two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
