The World Health Organization (WHO) recorded 72 assaults on medical institutions since the start of the most recent Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of 16 people and the injuries of 30 additional medical professionals who were on duty.

According to a UN statement, the strikes had an impact on 24 ambulances, 34 medical institutions, including 19 hospitals. Although all hospitals are executing emergency contingency plans that have an influence on performance and access to healthcare, 12 hospitals and 46 primary care clinics are no longer in business.

There is a growing concern over the increasing damage to civilian infrastructure, including educational facilities, added the statement.

In the occupied West Bank, WHO recorded 96 attacks on medical institutions since October 7, including 49 attacks that impeded the delivery of medical assistance and damaged 77 ambulances.

There were 53 cases of physical violence against health teams, 17 cases of detention of health teams and ambulances, and 10 cases of the military searching for health assets.
