Minister of Government Communications and government spokesman Muhannad Mubaidin met on Tuesday with media spokespeople of ministries and government institutions.

The minister called for an enhanced role by the spokespersons to convey the message and plans of their institutions to the public and media outlets and positively engage with citizens to improve the quality of service.

The essence of a media spokesman's work, he stressed, is his ability to provide information with the necessary speed and accuracy to curb rumors and strengthen the official narrative in the media.

Mubaidin stressed the need to highlight the achievements of government institutions through their wide publication to the public, suggesting the creation of a special unit in all ministries to communicate with the public and service recipients.

He said the Ministry of Government Communications is concerned with technical support for media spokesmen to build their capacity and raise their performance, which helps to centralize the government discourse, curb rumor and fake news and ensure a smooth flow of information.
