King listens to Parliament’s response to Speech from the Throne
Nayrouz News Agency :

Parliament on Tuesday presented its response to the Speech from the Throne, which was delivered by His Majesty King Abdullah on 11 October to inaugurate the 19th Parliament’s third ordinary session.

With His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in attendance, the Senate’s response, delivered by Senate President Faisal Fayez at Raghadan Palace, reiterated support for His Majesty’s leadership and bold position in advocating for the Palestinians and their rights to establish an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Fayez urged Jordanians to maintain steadfast commitment to Jordan’s unity and interests, and to reject any hateful or ignorant attempts to undermine the nation’s achievements or to question its positions.

In the House of Representatives’ response, House Speaker Ahmad Safadi highlighted the King’s steadfast position towards the Palestinian cause, adding that His Majesty has always warned that the absence of a just solution to the Palestinian issue will push the region into the abyss.

Describing the King as the voice of reason, the speaker said His Majesty has, from day one demanded an end to the aggression that targeted hospitals, schools, mosques, and churches in Gaza.

The Senate president and the House speaker both expressed commitment to cooperating closely with the executive authority to move forward on the political modernisation track and empower women and young Jordanians.

A number of Royal Family members, Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Judicial Council President Mohammad Ghazou, and senior officials attended Parliament’s response to the Speech from the Throne.
