A Cabinet session held Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, approved the amended Publications Deposit Bylaw for 2023.
Under the system, an electronic version of published works is requested by the concerned authorities, in addition to paper copies.
This process aims to avoid problems with publishing houses and enables the author and publisher of any work to carry out publication or production of the target publication, within a 1-year period from the date of giving deposit number to the published work.
Additionally, Council of Ministers approved an amending bylaw for the administrative organization system of Department of Public Antiquities (DoA) for 2023.
This system aims to amend names of some organizational units in DoA and create new sections, which enables it to carry out duties under applicable legislation, in line with the department’s vision and mission.
On another level, the Council decided to approve exemption of municipalities from value of the interest on overdrawn account until 12/31/2022, amounting to more than JD13 million, which would be deducted from Cities and Villages Development Bank (CVDB)'s reserves.
The Council of Ministers decided to endorse recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee to settle outstanding cases between 437 companies and taxpayers and Income and Sales Tax Department.
The Cabinet also decided to approve recommendations of the committee to settle 15 pending claims between taxpayers and/or violators, and Jordan Customs Department (JCD), provided that beneficiaries pay full due amounts, along with any fees, taxes, or expenses, within a 2-month period from the date of this decision.
