President of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), Dr. Nael Zidan, visited Libya upon an invitation from the Libyan Ambassador to Jordan, in coordination with the Libyan Ministry of Health and its agencies.
In a statement on Sunday, PHA said its President visited the Libya's Emergency Medicine and Support Centre (EMSC) and met with its Director General, Tariq Al-Hamshari, and discussed ways of cooperation between the PHA and EMSC, especially treating patients in Jordanian hospitals.
EMSC Director General expressed his desire to cooperate with PHA, as the EMSC sends patients to other countries to receive treatment, in addition to the possibility of cooperation in providing medical aid to the people in the Gaza Strip.
The Libyan Attorney General and his assistants also received the PHA President, and the Attorney General underlined the importance of closing the debts issue that the Jordanian authorities demand from Libya, the most important of which is the debt demanded by the private hospitals, autism centers, hotels and the accommodation of Libyan patients.
Head of the committee charged with studying and following up on the issue said that resolving it is progressing smoothly, and the technical committee has made significant progress on this issue and has completed some parts of it, awaiting the completion of the review processes ahead of disbursing claims to the right parties in the coming days.
He underlined the importance of opening a new page to build a sound relationship between the Libyan authorities and the Jordanians in the treatment file, in which negative aspects are avoided and a clear statement of the method of paying rights to their owners is provided.
The PHA President also met with Libyan health stakeholders and discussed various ways of cooperation with health and medical stakeholders in Jordan.
