Jordan's Ambassador to Iraq, Maher Tarawneh, underlined the importance of enhancing ties with Iraq.
In a meeting on Sunday with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Tarawneh discussed Jordan's diplomatic, humanitarian, and public efforts in dealing with the aggression against the people in the Gaza Strip, Jordan's Embassy in Iraq said in a statement.
Tarawneh had visited Al-Mashhadani to congratulate him on being elected as new parliament speaker, wishing him continued success.
For his part, Al-Mashhadani emphasized the importance of Iraqi-Jordanian relations and Iraq's keenness on enhancing cooperation in all fields to serve the interests of the two countries.
Al-Mashhadani also congratulated the Jordanian Parliament on the success and smoothness of the electoral process.
