Amman, July 9, 2025 – As part of its ongoing support for the cultural and creative sectors and the film industry in Jordan, Zain Jordan has announced its strategic partnership for the 6th edition of the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film, held under the theme "A World Beyond the Script". The festival kicked off on Wednesday evening at the Hussein Cultural Center Theatre in Amman, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, Chairman of the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, and in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, Festival President and Co-Founder, alongside a distinguished audience of cultural figures and film stars from Jordan, the region, and around the world.

Zain’s sponsorship of this event comes in line with its commitment to supporting the arts and creative industries, particularly the film industry, which serves as a vital platform for free expression, cultural identity, and a promising field for youth employment and entrepreneurship in Jordan. It is also an important driver for promoting tourism in the Kingdom.

This support complements Zain’s longstanding partnership with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, through which it has contributed to the establishment of six film centers in the governorates of Zarqa, Balqa, Irbid, and Aqaba, in addition to sponsoring various activities and events hosted by the Commission. Zain has also hosted workshops and training sessions related to filmmaking at all branches of its Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC).

This year, the festival features a rich and diverse selection of 62 Arab and international films, many of which are world premieres, while others have received awards at prestigious global film festivals. All the films are recent productions and are being screened in Jordan for the first time. The festival also showcases Irish cinema, represented by acclaimed director Jim Sheridan, alongside Arab cinema, eleven Jordanian films, five Jordanian film projects, and six films from Gaza.

The festival runs from July 2 to July 10 under the theme "A World Beyond the Script", offering audiences unique cinematic experiences that reflect real-world issues.
