It is intimated that as per media reports South Africa wants to return one million Covid -19 vaccine doses, received from Serum Institute of India. South Africa has put on hold use of AstraZeneca's shot in its vaccination program, as a small clinical trial showed that the shot offered minimal protection against mild to moderate illness from the Corona Virus Variant Dominant in the country. 

  The return of Vaccine doses by South Africa being inefficient against the variant prevalent in the country is a big embarrassment for Indian Govt. It deflates the 'vaccine diplomacy' balloon being propagated by India.
