Ghada Hammad- Head of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Engineer Bassam Al-Sarhan, confirmed that the authority is about to start operating the fifth generation technology, and is currently working on talks with companies to produce a plan and strategy for this generation.
Finally, Al-Sarhan added in a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the authority has not yet reached a final picture to announce, as there will be details, performance standards and timing for the start of the service and its spread, indicating that it is preferable to wait until the negotiation stage is completed because there are technical issues that have not yet been resolved. For his part, the Regional Director of Microsoft Business Applications, Engineer Maher Al-Khayat, said that many experts in the communications and information technology sector believe that the fifth generation services will accelerate the fourth industrial revolution in terms of data and information services, just as electricity was in the period of the mechanical production revolution.
He added that 5G services will lead to significant improvements in responsiveness, speed, coverage and density, in addition to data upload and download speeds that are many times faster than current services.
Al-Khayyat explained that artificial intelligence will improve real-time design and allow remote monitoring and control in unprecedented ways, and will mark the beginning of a new era of digital services and infrastructure that will affect almost all areas, and in the field of entertainment will allow users to enjoy unique and new experiences like reality. Augmented and virtual reality, as well as other services powered by artificial intelligence.
