The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRC) participated in the "GSMA Mobil 360" conference, which was organized by the International Association of Mobile Operators during the period 17-18 May, in the city of Riyadh.
According to a statement by the authority today, Wednesday, the authority, represented by its CEO / Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Eng. Bassam Al Sarhan, and a member of the Board of Commissioners, Dr. Noah Al Sheyab, participated in the presence and wide participation of policy makers, regulators and representatives of the telecommunications industry from operators, providers and service providers.
The conference dealt with many axes related to the mobile phone industry, expanding technology boundaries, digital transformation policies, smart cities, frequency spectrum management, and the future of the telecommunications sector in terms of technological, regulatory and economic aspects, in addition to holding meetings and dialogues on the challenges facing the region in its quest to transition to a digital economy and achieve sustainable development.
Al-Sarhan stressed that the authority’s participation in the conference came as part of the authority’s tireless and continuous efforts to cooperate with regional and international partners and experts in the field of telecommunications sector policies and digital transformation, and to work on upgrading and developing the Jordanian telecommunications sector within the best international practices to place Jordan in the ranks of advanced countries in the telecommunications sector.
It is worth mentioning that the International Association of Mobile Operators is considered the umbrella framework for taking care of the interests of mobile phone companies and companies working in the manufacture of applications, programs and technologies for the mobile phone industry in the world, as its membership includes all mobile phone operators and companies from different countries of the world.
The association seeks to encourage investment in the mobile telecommunications sector and related technology through coordinating efforts and exchanging experiences and viewpoints between policy makers and mobile operators to develop the mobile telecommunications industry.
