In a recent press conference held Sunday evening, the Gaza Government Media Office spokesperson shared alarming updates, reporting a surge in human death toll to 11,180, among which 4,609 are children.
The spokesperson revealed distressing details about the impact on Gaza's healthcare infrastructure, saying that a staggering 22 hospitals and 49 health centers have ceased operations, leaving the region grappling with a dire lack of medical facilities.
"The Israeli occupation forces specifically targeted critical medical sections at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, causing the loss of two premature babies due to disrupted supplies," he added.
Furthermore, the widespread destruction caused by the occupation forces extends beyond human casualties. A total of 70 mosques have been annihilated, while 153 others suffered partial damage. Additionally, three churches have also been destroyed in the ongoing conflict.
The spokesperson's poignant remarks underscored the gravity of the situation, indicating that the persisting Israeli assaults in Gaza not only inflict immense human suffering but also allow the occupation to operate under international cover.
Moreover, urgent appeals were made to swiftly deliver fuel to hospitals in Gaza, a critical necessity to sustain essential medical services in the besieged region.
