The University of Jordan and the University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, renewed the cooperation agreement signed between them; With the aim of strengthening the existing avenues of cooperation between them, and enriching them by activating other and new cooperation frameworks in the academic, scientific, health, medical and training fields, in addition to benefiting from the experience of the University of Jordan in international accreditations.
According to a statement from the university, this came during a meeting with the President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Nazir Obeidat, in his office, today, Wednesday, with the President of the University of Tabuk, Dr. Abdullah Al-Thiabi, and the academic delegation accompanying him.
During the meeting, Obeidat praised the expansion of cooperation opportunities with the University of Tabuk in terms of exchanging research and teaching experiences and student exchange, stressing the importance of real research partnerships based on well-studied, documented and clear foundations for both sides.
The Vice President of the University of Jordan for Academic Faculties Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Abu Karaki, welcomed the visiting delegation and the proposals it presented in order to strengthen the partnership between the two universities in various aspects, and his keenness to attract Jordanian researchers and students for research and training purposes in a number of its medical and scientific centers.
The delegation visited the university hospital and met the hospital director, Dr. Jamal Melhem, who gave a clear summary of the most prominent features that distinguish the first academic hospital of its kind in Jordan from its counterparts from university hospitals in the region.
The delegation's tour also included a visit to the Naif Gamma Unit, during which the unit's director, Dr. Abdul Rahman Shdeifat, explained that it is the newest unit of the hospital, and was established as a fruit of the joint effort of the various departments of the University of Jordan and its hospital.
The visiting delegation included the Vice President of the University of Tabuk for Educational Affairs, Dr. Faisal Abu Zaheer, the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Mutairi, the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Othman Al-Zahrani, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Maree Al-Omari, and the Dean of the College of Medical Sciences, Dr. Hamad Al-Amer. The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jabri, and the Head of the Nursing Department, Dr. Maidah Al-Ghamdi.
