United Nations Committee in charge of monitoring compliance with the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child has confirmed that Israeli occupation entity committed serious violations against children in Gaza Strip.
The committee considered these violations as the worst in modern history for the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of the Child.
Palestinian health authorities reported that more than 41,000 people were killed as a result of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, including thousands of children.
Reuters quoted Bragi Guðbrandsson, Vice Chair of the UN Committee, as telling reporters "The terrible death of children in Gaza Strip is unprecedented in history, and it forms a dark spot in our contemporary history
"We have never witnessed a violation of this magnitude, as is happening now in Gaza,” Guðbrandsson added.
The committee called for urgent assistance for the thousands of children who were injured or disabled due to the aggression, and for further medical evacuations from Gaza be facilitated.
