Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the primary cause of what is happening in Gaza Strip is the failure to establish a "full-fledged” Palestinian state, and to implement relevant international resolutions.
"Most of those who lost their lives during the war on Gaza Strip were women and children,” RT quoted Putin as saying at a press conference at the conclusion of the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan on Thursday.
He added "There is no person on earth whose heart does not bleed when he sees what is happening in Gaza, noting that more than 40,000 people have died, and most of them are women and children,”.
Putin stressed that from Russia’s point of view, "this conflict can only be resolved after removing its causes, the main cause of which is the absence of a full-fledged Palestinian state, and we need to implement all Security Council resolutions in this context.”
Russian President expressed deep concern about what is happening in the Middle East, adding that Moscow does not want the conflict in the region to escalate, and everyone must work to prevent this escalation from occur.
"the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza Strip is an exceptional and unprecedented situation that requires solidarity with the Palestinian people, and we must do our utmost to establish an independent Palestinian state”, Putin said during the expanded session within the framework of the BRICS summit.
