Social Media is a large virtual world that falls under many diverse terms that allows individuals to communicate with each other through social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, where they share information and media that may be read, heard or in the form of files and documents attached to conversations or publications.

 

Ibrahim Hamdan is a cybersecurity expert who specializes in information and social media sites, stressing the importance of educating members of the Jordanian and Arab community about the dangers that an Internet user may be exposed to while browsing various networking sites and E-content that negatively affect his social experience and lead to real damage resulting from lack of experience and full knowledge in this field.

 

 

Hamdan pointed out that most people spend a lot of time on social media sites and even became an integral part of the lives of every human being and something necessary for individuals working in all sectors to communicate with each other such as employees, university lecturers, students and others, which confirms the need for an awareness system that guides these individuals to the best ways to surf the Internet without being victims in the hands of hackers and fraudsters.

 

Ibrahim Hamdan explained some of the ways and methods used by these outlaws to lure victims to be blackmailed or threatened later in order to achieve their objectives of this fraudulent operation and may be personal or material objectives such as material claims in exchange for the recovery of their personal accounts that they hacked or delete their personal photos which they stole after penetrating the privacy of the victims.

 

He added that one of these methods is to impersonate non-existent persons and use fake names and images to talk to the victim and build a close relationship with him, where the fraudster collects the as much as he can information about the victim and uses social engineering to convince him indirectly to give personal or private information such as family photos or bank card information and put false arguments and evidences to make the victim not afraid of his demands.

 

Hamdan pointed out that the category most vulnerable to such cases of fraud and breach of illegal privacy are teenagers, especially children whose life interests vary, where the child can enter unsafe sites in order to get an online game free of charge and thus be hacked... And so on. Females are most vulnerable to extortion and privacy. This group should be intensely knowledgeable unlike the rest of the age groups and gender.

 

Ibrahim confirmed that he is providing educational awareness content about these risks through his social media accounts, how to deal with fraudsters and hackers in the event of a person falling victim to the hack or privacy issue, and he helped many people secure their accounts and recover the accounts that were stolen.
