Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wissam Rabadi on Sunday delivered a lecture covering the Kingdom's development planning stages at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College (RJNDC).
In the lecture, titled "Strategic Planning for Development and the Role of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation", Rabadi said that the upcoming stage — the process of prioritisation and the new programmes — will include reviewing the Jordan 2025 document and preparing a development programme for the upcoming three years, according to a ministry statement.
The planning will take into consideration a set of reforms launched as part of the London Initiative related to the economy and work environment, Rabadai said.
Reforms are being currently reviewed as part of the new global input and the challenges facing the Kingdom due to the coronavirus crisis, he said.
The upcoming phase will also include programmes to manage public investment, sector strategies, in addition to programmes for financial reform and private sector partnership.
Rabadi said that the programmes have a positive impact on the government's decision-making process and its work on preparing economic and social programmes, arranging national priorities and directing financial resources accordingly, according to the statement
