Mexican Ambassador to Jordan, Roberto Rodriguez Hernandez, lauded Jordan's response to humanitarian crises and its role in empowering and supporting women.

Addressing a reception hosted by Hernandez on occasion of end of tenure of United Nations Women Jordan Representative Ziad Sheikh, the envoy commended Sheikh's efforts and his support for Jordanian government's endeavors to continue responding to humanitarian crises.

The envoy also highlighted Sheikh's role in enhancing women role, developing ways to achieve their empowerment, protection from violence and their contribution in all areas, as a key component of society.

For his part, Sheikh expressed his thanks for cooperation during his tenure in Jordan.

Minister of Social Development Ayman Mufleh, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Musa Maaytah, and a number of ambassadors and heads of international and local organizations attended the event.
