A financial grant from the Government of Japan to the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization
Nayrouz News Agency :
The Government of Japan has provided a grant to the Jordan Hashemite Charitable Organization, to provide equipment for the handling and storage of goods in its warehouses, under the Japan Assistance Grant Program for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The agreement was signed, according to the authority's statement today, Sunday, by its Secretary-General, Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, and on behalf of the Government of Japan, Chargé d'Affairs at the Japanese Embassy, Nitsu Shuntaro.
Al-Shibli said that it is not the first time that the authority has received support from the Japanese government, but rather it is an extension of the support we received in 2017 to raise the level of storage, increase the quality of equipment, and improve the capabilities of the authority's warehouses to absorb the aid provided.
He added, "It is a great pride for us that we and the Japanese government are following the same approach, carrying out humanitarian work and delivering various aids, and securing our warehouses with an appropriate environment to preserve and store materials until they are disbursed."
In turn, the Chargé d'Affairs at the Japanese Embassy said that the new equipment will enable the authority to store a larger amount of aid parcels in warehouses, and improve the operational efficiency of loading and unloading supplies.
The grant aims to raise the capacity and facilitate work in the Authority's warehouses in Zarqa, and to enhance the capacity of aid storage by providing goods handling and storage equipment.
It is noteworthy that Japan, in the framework of Japanese grants for human security projects at the grass-roots level, has provided more than $10 million for 154 projects for NGOs, schools, hospitals and municipalities in Jordan since 1993.
