U.S. calls for protecting civilians after an Israeli attack on UN shelter in Gaza
Nayrouz News Agency : The United States urged the protection of United Nations facilities and civilians following an Israeli strike on a UN-established shelter for displaced individuals in Khan Yunis, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the loss of nine lives.

Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Vedant Patel, said "Civilians must be protected, and the protected nature of UN facilities must be respected, and humanitarian workers must be protected so that they can continue providing civilians with the life-saving humanitarian assistance that they need."

Thomas White, Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza said that nine Palestinians were killed and 75 were injured when two tank rounds hit the building that was sheltering around 800 people in the southern Gaza Strip.

In turn, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini condemned the bombing, suggesting that the death toll would rise.
