Egypt welcomed the UN General Assembly’s overwhelmingly adoption of a resolution calling on the Israeli occupation entity to end its occupation of the Palestinian territory within 12 months.
"The adoption of the resolution by a majority of 124 countries is a reflection of the broad support of the international community to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory and all its illegal manifestations, as well as the desire to correct the historical injustice on the Palestinian people and recognition of their right to self-determination”, Wafa Agency quoted Egyptian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement.
The Ministry stressed the need for concerted international efforts to work on restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and ending the illegal Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory, in order to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 line, with Jerusalem as its capital.
