Nayrouz News Agency : President of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Jordan, President of the Arab Federation of Trade Unions, Mazen Al-Maaytah, participated in the work of the Conference of the Federation of Government Employees in Turkey.
According to a press statement issued by the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, today, Monday, Maaytah discussed, during his meeting, a number of heads of trade unions and major unions in Turkey, a number of issues of concern to workers, especially those related to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic and its effects on the wheel of production and labor rights.
Al-Maaytah stressed the importance of protecting the interests of the working class and not compromising the basic rights of workers, noting that the current conditions have cast a shadow over large labor sectors, especially vulnerable groups such as day laborers and self-employed workers.
He explained that the current situation requires strengthening the efforts made by governments towards developing social protection floors, and starting an effective social dialogue that guarantees the interests of the production parties to get out of the repercussions of the Corona pandemic crisis.
