MAN December 14 The National Center for Cybersecurity signed yesterday, Tuesday, a memorandum of understanding in the field of cybersecurity, with the government of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, aimed at enhancing cooperation, exchanging experiences and facilitating links between institutions in both countries.
According to a statement by the National Center for Cybersecurity, today, Wednesday, the signing of the memorandum comes as a desire from the two countries to continue developing cooperation and strengthening bilateral friendly relations, in line with the two countries’ common interests in preserving the increasing economic, social and security benefits resulting from the use of a free, open, peaceful and safe cyberspace, in addition to the awareness of the two countries. For the need to raise awareness of the supposed threats of cybercrime and its malicious activities.
The memorandum is in line with the national strategy for cybersecurity and serves the Center's efforts to strengthen Jordan's position internationally by consolidating cooperation and integration and creating international partnerships in the fields of cybersecurity, in order to achieve a safe and reliable Jordanian cyberspace that enables growth and prosperity.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Jordanian government by the Head of the National Center for Cyber Security, Eng. Bassam Al-Maharmeh, and on behalf of the UK government, the British Ambassador to Amman, Bridget Brind.
