Gold prices rose slightly on Friday, but were set for a weekly loss as investors looked forward to US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s speech that could offer fresh insights on the central bank’s interest rate cuts plans.
Reuters reported that spot gold rose 0.2 percent to $2,488,74 per ounce, while US gold futures gained 0.3 percent to 254.30.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0,2 to $29.03 per ounce ,Platinum gained 0.7 to $950,55 and palladium fell 0.7 at $926,75.
