Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in the Lebanese capital Beirut on a solidarity visit with Lebanon.
IRNA news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei as saying in a post on his social media account that the Iranian diplomatic delegation headed by Araghchi had arrived in Lebanon, stressing that "Iran is steadfast in its solidarity with the brave Lebanese people, and everyone in the region must understand the dangerous situation facing Lebanon and its consequences for the future of our countries.”
"Our delegation is headed by Foreign Minister Araghchi and includes members of the Shura Council and the head of the Red Crescent Society,” Baghaei added.
Baghaei pointed out that a meeting is scheduled to be held between Araghchi, the Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, and the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri.
"A shipment of 10 tons of food and medicine will be provided to Lebanon as part of Iran’s humanitarian aid,” Baqhaei noted.
