PM lauds healthcare workers on World Health Day
Nayrouz News Agency : Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omar Razzaz on Tuesday lauded healthcare workers’ efforts and dedication on World Health Day, which falls on April 7, describing them as  "the first line of defence” against the novel coronavirus.

In a voice message broadcast on radio and media platforms, the premier said: "A salute to all healthcare workers, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, administrators, technicians and sanitation workers. You are heroes. In these hard times, out of your belief in national responsibility, you are working relentlessly to provide care for Jordanians.”

He also called on the public to express gratitude to healthcare providers via social media platforms, emphasising the importance of adhering to curfew instructions, health and safety regulations and precautionary measures, notably social distancing, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The prime minister also highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah’s support to the healthcare cadres, lauding the efforts of the armed forces, security bodies, private sector, civil society institutions and youth volunteers.

He also voiced confidence in the ability of healthcare workers to contain the spread of  COVID-19 and overcome the pandemic crisis, Petra added.
