AZEZA upbeat about reviving tourism following coronavirus crisis
Nayrouz News Agency : The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) has issued an open message of reassurance, stating that the tourism sector will recover and that a strategy is in place to revive the sector once the coronavirus pandemic is eradicated, especially as Jordan’s preventive measures are gaining global attention.

ASEZA Commissioner for Tourism and Economic Development Shurahbeel Madi on Sunday said that since tourism activities in the Kingdom came to a halt, the authority has been working to promote Aqaba via online channels, in addition to broadcasting messages of reassurance to global markets, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The official said that the tourism sector, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, was among the most affected sectors both in the Kingdom and in the world, stressing that ASEZA has developed strategic plans to revive the sector once the virus is eradicated.

Madi highlighted that Jordan has set a model by implementing preventive measures in all public and private facilities to curb the spread of the virus.

Since the curfew took hold, AZEZA staff, working from home, have been promoting tourism in Aqaba and Jordan via online platforms, Madi said.

The commissioner added that the authority has also revamped its tourism facilities to be ready to receive tourists and visitors to Aqaba from all parts of the world.
