His Majesty lauded the efforts of doctors who participated in the initiative and offered them all support, Abu Nimah said.
The King, during the phone call, checked on the Dead Sea quarantine, he added, highlighting that His Majesty also went over means of improving the quarantinefor the best interest of students.
Abu Nimah, a trained doctor at Zarqa Hospital, launched the volunteer initiative after the first coronavirus infection in Jordan was announced in March.
The initiative aims at providing free medical services for patients during the current crisis, either through medical consultations over the phone for simple cases or home visits to patients in order to minimise hospital visits as much as possible.
The initiative started with eight doctors, while the number has since increased to reach 150 doctors, including 30 specialists and 120 general practitioners.
Abu Nimah announced the initiative while he was in Dubai, and two days after the announcement, he returned to Jordan and underwent quarantine at a Dead Sea hotel.
