In a statement issued by the ministry, Omoush said that the by-law aims to ensure the quality of work in the construction sector and raise engineering standards, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
It also aims to ensure that the work meets the technical specifications and requirements of engineering codes, he added.
The by-law stipulates the activation of the technical committees formed under the National Construction Council to control the quality of apartments, residential buildings and establishments in general, affirm the role of classified contractors to carry out work and follow up with supervising engineers in applying the approved specifications for consumer protection.
The by-law also stipulates that the committees receive complaints from citizens in the event of violations or structural or technical defects.
