Nayrouz News Agency : The gradual return of Jordanian citizens stranded abroad will commence on August 15, the government announced on Thursday.

The fifth phase of evacuation by air and the third phase of repatriation by land will begin on August 15, based on the domestic epidemiological situation and  the availability of institutional quarantine sites, Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said during a press briefing at the Prime Ministry.

Stressing that "the return of Jordanians stranded abroad is a national priority”, Adaileh said that the Foreign Ministry was scheduled to activate Thursday an e-platform for those who wish to travel by land or sea to register on: http://safelyhome2.gov.jo

He also added that another platform (http://safelyhome.gov.jo) will be reactivated to receive requests from Jordanians who wish to travel by air.

The minister said that the two platforms will be permanently operational, calling on those who had registered previously but have not returned yet to submit their requests again.

For non-Jordanians, they have to directly apply through the Kingdom’s embassy in the country they are in, the minister said.

The fifth phase will include flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Manama, Doha, Kuwait, Jeddah, Riyadh, Cairo, Budapest, Moscow, Nour Sultan, Frankfurt, New York, Chicago and Istanbul, in addition to a special flight dedicated for Jordanians students in Northern Cyprus, he said.

Adaileh also noted that additional destinations will be included, depending on the number of applicants.

He added that the Crisis Cell has decided to operate four "exceptional flights” from the UAE, with two flights from Abu Dhabi and two from Dubai on August 9-10, highlighting that the four flights will be allocated for Jordanians who have to leave the UAE before the end of this month.

Despite the decision to postpone regular flight operations, the Royal Jordanian flight from Rome on August 8 will arrive as scheduled, the minister said.

The flight will be designated for Jordanians wishing to return from Italy, Adaileh said, highlighting that the arrivals from "green countries”,  nations deemed low-risk for the coronavirus, will be placed in a seven-day institutional quarantine.
